Royals News · The Summer Waiver period begins Monday!

The MSHSL Summer Waiver period begins Monday, June 15th.  Even though workouts will look considerably different, we’re looking forward to seeing our athletic programs back on campus preparing for their 20-21 seasons.  The Summer Waiver period will extend through Friday, August 7th (excluding the July 3-5 non-contact dates).  All coaches/programs practicing during the Summer Waiver period are required to have a documented Return-to-Play Protocol on file with the Athletic Department that spells out any practice adjustments specific to their sport.  In addition, the following updates have been made to our current policies to ensure that physical distancing, cleanliness practices, and safety measures can all be met and followed.

Physical Distancing

The term “physical distancing” is commonly used in today’s media, but it can be difficult to know what it actually means. Physical distancing refers to measures being taken to limit where and when people can gather. The goal is to stop or slow the spread of infectious disease. In general, 6 feet of separation is the distance that is recommended. This recommendation is most important in all gatherings in Hopkins facilities and on our grounds.

  • Mark spots or seats 6 feet apart
  • Practice good hand washing at the start and end of each activity
  • Follow parent pick-up and drop-off guidelines
  • Recommend face masks for staff and older children

User Agreement

  • Upon entering the facility, members understand they are entering at their own risk and agree to practice physical distancing and cleaning procedures.
  • If a user fails to comply with physical distancing and cleaning protocols, an employee can ask them to leave the facility.

Hours

  • LC Hours will be 6:00 am-8:00 p.m. weekdays.
    • Weekends will be closed until further notice.
  • The facility will have limited participant use based on physical distancing practices.

  • Anyone under age 14 must have direct adult supervision
    • The adult supervisor is required to be 18 years of age or older and be in direct vision of the child they are supervising.

Check In

  • Athletes should assess their health prior to entering the facility.
    • If you are feeling sick and/or have experienced symptoms (example: fever, cough, or shortness of breath) we ask that you please stay home.
