On Friday, September 27, we inducted 4 new members to the Hall of Fame. The ceremony took place in the Hopkins HighSchool Auditorium at 5:30pm and was followed by a reception for our inductees. Later that evening, each of the inductees were recognized at half time of the Royals football game vs. Spring Lake Park.
The class of 2019 includes:
• Bud Hamilton – class of 1954, All-State in football and basketball, won 2 state titles & 65 consecutive games in basketball, played at the University of Minnesota and served in the US Air Force.
• Darryl Laddin – class of 1983, won 2 state individual tennis titles and went undefeated during his Junior season, top ranked HS player in the NWTA and was top 20 nationally as a student/athlete at Harvard.
• Dave Lund – teacher/coach/administrator in Hopkins from 1967 to 1983, took two boys hockey teams to state in 1975 & 1980, only coach in Hopkins boys hockey history to take a team to state, won almost 70% of the games he coached,
• Scott Westermann – long time athletic trainer for Hopkins programs, serving all of the the student/athletes, parents, coaches and programs for almost 2 decades, service-oriented professional with a big heart for kids & coaches!
